    "body": "### Feature Request\n\n## Problem / Opportunity\n\nWhile auditing which Graphite metrics are still in use (Grafana dashboards, alerts, and code that reads Graphite), I found two in the web app that **no dashboard, alert or code reads, and that send little or no data**:\n\n| Metric | Data in Graphite | Readers |\n|---|---|---|\n| `ol.requests.<state>.<method>.<status>.<user>.<path>.class_<page>.<bucket>.count` | **None for 3+ years.** The hooks that send it were commented out on 2020-04-07 because they overloaded Graphite. | Only two personal test dashboards from 2020. |\n| `ol.edits.bots.<botname>` | **None since 2026-07-03.** 207 events ever, all in one week (2026-06-26 to 07-03), from `mekBot` and `openlibrarytagsbot`. | None. Bot edit counts already come from the daily `counts-*` docs (`bot_edits`), which `/stats` shows. |\n\nRemoving them leaves less code to migrate and less dead code in `stats.py`.\n\nSuccess: both metrics' code is gone, and nothing else in the stats hooks changes.\n\n## Proposal\n\n1. In `openlibrary/plugins/openlibrary/stats.py`, delete the request hooks, which have been disabled since 2020:\n   - `GraphiteRequestStats`, `page_load_hook()`, `page_unload_hook()` and `TIME_BUCKETS`\n   - the commented-out `add_processor(...)` lines in `setup()` and the comment above them\n   - the `import time` they use\n   - **Keep** `_get_path_page_name()` and `_get_top_level_path_for_metric()`. `increment_error_count()` still uses them.\n2. In `openlibrary/plugins/openlibrary/code.py`, in `new.POST`, delete the \"graphite/statsd tracking of bot edits\" block that builds `ol.edits.bots.<botname>` and calls `openlibrary.core.stats.increment(key)`. Check whether the `user` lookup above it is still needed. If nothing else uses it, remove it too.\n\nOut of scope: the other metrics in `stats.py` (`ol.pageviews`, `ol.memcache.*`, per-stage timers, `ol.internal-errors-segmented.*`).
